A message to our customers, from Tim Fleming, Executive Vice President Sales, Operations and Client Service

Over the past several months, the weather conditions that have impacted our country have greatly affected companies who are required to have their employees travel for business. Bad weather is not an uncommon occurrence; however, the storms that we have experienced in just the last couple of weeks have been continuous and packed a mighty punch in many areas of our country.

In reviewing Travel and Transport’s phone statistics for the month of February alone, our After-hours Emergency Service Center experienced historically high call volumes never reported in our 63 year history. Due to these storms occurring many times mid-week, we also experienced unusual spikes in calls that came into our reservation offices during regular business hours.  Travel and Transport did anticipate for many of these situations and increased our staff by up to 30-50% in our After-hours Emergency Services area to ensure that we were able to assist our clients, however, we understand that there may have been instances in which travelers experienced longer than expected hold times.

Situations such as this can present a challenge for not only the traveler who is stranded in an airport but for companies who are incurring additional costs as their employees are being forced to report additional T&E costs, reschedule meetings, miss deadlines, etc. At Travel and Transport, it is imperative that we are providing each traveler with the highest service possible. When a traveler is stranded and needs emergency travel assistance, it is important that they hear a friendly voice on the other line that will not only assist with changes but who will follow up and ensure that every detail is being handled successfully.

We do apologize for any inconvenience that the weather conditions and longer than expected hold times may have caused your company or any of your travelers. Should you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact your Account Manager immediately.

We do appreciate your business and thank you for your patience.
